    ICP-Brasil A1 Certificate

    A digital certificate issued under Brazil's ICP-Brasil PKI, stored in software (type A1) and used to sign NF-e / NFS-e payloads submitted to SEFAZ and Receita Federal.

    A1 certificates are valid for one year, kept inside the e-invoicing system (no token), and bind every signed NF-e to the issuer's CNPJ. A3 certificates (hardware token) are an alternative but uncommon for cloud e-invoicing.
